The Hudson Valley Youth Chorale has delighted audiences since 1995 with its engaging musical presentations and sparkling musicality. The chorus captures the hearts of their audience with their pure love of singing. The singers, 3rd through 12th grade boys and girls, are drawn from throughout New York’s Hudson Valley. Their repertoire spans an array of musical styles: classical (both secular and sacred songs) multicultural folk music, popular song, spirituals, gospel and jazz. HVYC performances are often highlighted with choreography.
The Hudson Valley Youth Chorale is a not for profit organization, and graciously accepts donations from individuals and organizations.
The Hudson Valley Youth Chorale was created to enhance the lives of musical children from all cultural roots and economic backgrounds by offering them the opportunity to strive for unparalleled excellence in choral singing. In a non-competitive and nurturing environment, its mission is realized by providing a structured, progressive program of music instruction and an artistic performance that will last a lifetime.
The Hudson Valley Youth Chorale is led by its director, Mathew Camara. The HVYC program is further enhanced by its Artist-in-Residence program which gives its members an opportunity to meet and work with professional musicians and artists from the community.
The Hudson Valley Youth Chorale consists of three age groups. The Cantabile Singers are boys and girls in grades 3-5. The Singing Ambassadors are boys and girls in grades 6-8. The Voices of the Future are boys and girls in grades 9-12.
