Costumes

A. No singer is allowed to appear on stage without the appropriate costume.

B. There are prescribed formal and casual costumes for HVYC performances. The HVYC provides most of the costume pieces.  Families provide pieces as specified below.

C. There is a deposit for the use of costumes, which is returned in the spring, when costumes are turned in, in good condition. Deposit for Cantabile Singers is $25.00, and Singing Ambassadors is $50.00. Payment is to be made at opening parent meeting, along with the tuition payment.  Please make checks payable to HVYC.

D. Singers should be well groomed when the appear as a member of the HVYC.  Girls’ undergarments should be white. Hair ties and barrettes should blend with hair color.  Hair should be out of the singer’s face.  The basic rule for hair, jewelry and make-up is, “If it calls attention to the wearer, it should not be worn.” Dangling earrings that catch the light, sparkling bracelets, necklaces, etc. are all inappropriate.
